We were happy to see a Hungry Howies Pizza move into our neighborhood. Our only option has been Round Table, which is good, but overpriced. IE...you can cook steaks for 3 people for the price of their medium pie. That's just un-American...what are you Exxon Mobile?
We joined the Hungry Howies mailing list to start to receive coupons and then made our first order. Let's put it this way...we were OFF of their mailing list before their tasteless pie made it to my throne. The pizza sauce was tasteless. No tomato flavor, no herb/spice flavor, nothing. The crust tasted like wonder bread and even the cheese and pepperoni were flavorless and reminded me of something you'd microwave at 7-11. The breadsticks were burnt and had the most disgusting mix of powdered flavoring on them. I said to my wife I said, "how in the heck does a place like this franchise out across the country!?!"
I've eaten pizza from street vendors all the way up to old chicago and some others. I've never had things like this to say afterwards. I BS you not when I say I'd rather buy a Tony's from the freezer section at the market. I'm not pulling your leg when I say I'd sooner slap some Ragu on a hogie bun with a piece of spam!
Order from Howies...just don't say I didn't tell you so. Consider yourself warned.
