What are DINKS to do?

Since my wife and I are DINKS, we have no idea what to give to kids on halloween. I saw an article that sad candy corn, hard candy, laffy taffy and even the "fun size" candy bars are out.

What do kids want?

Dinks and Halloween..

There is nothing wrong with the traditional Halloween. Costumes, Candy & Scary Movies. Who says you need to give kids things for Halloween. It's not a birthday and it's not a gift giving Holiday like Christmas. I say candy is always a good choice for kids that stop by the house.
Now, if you want to try something new with your own family depending on age you should have a Halloween theme party. Have the kids dress up, make spooky foods & drinks. Invite the kids friends & parents over for a few hours on Halloween. Do a costume contest and have a few prizes to give for winners. Have a pumpkin carving contest or just carve pumpkins for fun. Some other games - Charades, Scariest face contest, bobbing for apples.
Another suggestion is get to get the whole family together and build a "Haunted Room" or yard. Pick a room in the house or the yard to decorate together and have your party in. Set up different areas and have things like mashed grapes (eyeballs) and blind fold the kids. Let them roam around feeling different creepy gross things for fun. Play some scary/fun music and try to have fun.

Hope this helps a little...have a Happy Halloween!

Wrapped Candy

Every kid I've ever met, including the dentist's kids, love miniature candy bars. Most parents today give their children instructions to bring the treats home before they eat any. That way they can check out the stash and dispose of anything questionable. So long as the treat appears to be in an original manufacturer's wrapper, it will probably pass the test.

Too bad we have to be so careful nowadays; when I was a kid, one of the best treats I got each year was my neighbor's popcorn balls.
